Can you remember when the pressure was on you to deliver a great birthday party, stag or hen do, or office outing? You’ll recall it's not easy finding something a little different (after all we want our party to be memorable, right?), that everyone can participate in, without feeling self-conscious or too far out of their comfort zone.
Indoor skydiving ticks a lot of boxes: a bit different - tick, a shared experience - tick, fun without being intimidating, embarrassing or risky - tick, something pretty much everyone can have a go at - tick. Something everyone will talk about afterwards - BIG tick!
Types of Parties and Events to Host
Parties at an indoor skydiving centre are straightforward, exciting events to host. Participants will be grouped in teams of up to 13 people who go through the process of tuition, gearing up, watching the previous group fly, the flights themselves, an instructor demo, a debrief and the all-important moment when you discover if you have been awarded your White Wings - the first step on the progression ladder of the sport in the UK. When your group is not in session you can spectate, chill out in our party room or engage in other partner activities that we can arrange, according to the venue. These might include brushboarding, freedom climbing and bowling.
The most common events we host are as follows:
Birthday Parties
Birthdays are by far the most popular indoor skydiving event. The tendency is to associate the full party experience with kids and this is often the case, but we also that the dream of flight can be the perfect way to celebrate significant birthdays from eighteen to eighty years old!
A typical kids birthday package lasts between one to two hours on site and, in addition to the full flight experience, can include:
Party invites
Full use of our Party Room
Pizzas, garlic bread and soft drinks
Superhero flight suit for Birthday boy or girl
In-flight digital photo and video clip
Group photo of everyone standing inside the tunnel
Free Facebook pic for every guest
Free Flight Certificate for every guest
Beyond this, if you have any specific requests or ideas, the team at each centre will only be too happy to try to make them happen.
Team or Group Events
Regardless of individual fitness levels, indoor skydiving is a great option. The size of the facility makes these centres perfect for hosting large groups of up to fifty people. Common groups include:
Corporate Team Building
Sports Teams
Youth Group Events
Family Fun Nights
Church Gatherings
Stag and Hen Dos
One of our favourite visiting groups is the Growing Old Disgracefully girls!
Charity Fundraisers
We love working with charities to raise money for a good cause. Bring twenty or more people to any one of our centres during our quieter times and not only will we give you a great rate, we'll also make a donation to the charity.
Product launches
Renting out the entire facility can be a great choice for large or special events like a product launch for the media or key customers. Dr Martens and Timberland are just two of the brands that have recently taken over an iFLY facility to showcase new products for VIP guests - guests who leave with a huge smile on their face and an experience they will never forget.
TV shows and celebrities...
A Question of Sport, The Apprentice and Guy Martin's Speed are just some of the many TV shows to have filmed at iFLY recently. When you visit, you also never know which celebrity you might bump into...Wayne Rooney, Anthony Joshua, Emma Bunton, Bastille and super Vlogger Jack Maynard are just some well-known names to have visited recently
Pricing:
Costs normally range from £37 to £62 per person, depending on the package and when you come. Weekends will be more expensive than during the week.
A few rules
Apart from health and safety, we don't like too many rules, but here's what we will need:
Full payment to secure the time slot
A signed waiver before you fly (under 18 signed by parent)
..and the Golden Rule: Relax and smile - it helps with the flying!
